Dear blog rogov,
It has been some time since I have written you. In the cycle of life though, I am once again entranced with weblogs. I might even write coherently during this round of posts. I suppose I should put some of my writings up here since that is why I decided to use a weblog again. What shall I start with? Hang on, let me search my records…. okay, I found a poem that I am not entirely ashamed of (unlike some of my previous posts). I have not named it yet, but how does “Consolation” sound?
Mother, you must not weep.
Your boy died like a man.
Serene in endless sleep,
You will see him again.
His body has been washed
Of the battlefield’s grime.
The blood still stains the frost
Where he breathed one last time.
His death was not in vain
Because the battle’s won.
If it will ease the pain,
You’re not the only one.
Mothers, you may weep,
Though only for a while.
For when you go to sleep,
He’ll greet you with a smile.
