By and large, and certainly when she’s out of the house, we only dress our daughter in dresses and skirts. I have her in a onesie today, and I can’t help by notice that she’s frustrated by the fact that she can not pull her onesie over her head, exposing her daiper, and chew on the fabric.

Baptism

I don’t think we ever mentioned after whom our daughter is named.

Evelyn Waugh - 20th century Catholic novelist.
St. Aurelia - of Strausborg or Ratisbon, Capetian princess that fled an arranged marriage and became a Benedictine hermitiss.
Ione - small island of the Inner Hebrides, monastery founded in 563 by Saint Columba, one of the most important centres of Celtic Christianity and culture, where the Book of Kells is thought to be written, thirty-eight Benedictine monks were martyred in the monastery in 750, their names have not come down to us. Ione also means ‘violet’ in Greek, Violet after my late paternal grandmother.

leaves

Evelyn and I spent last week at my parents’ home in Minneapolis enjoying the red, orange and yellow trees, grandparents, siblings, and city. Here are some November pictures. Evelyn is 4 months on the 11th of this month! She now smiles like a maniac, shakes rattles, loves playing without clothes on and trashing wildly like a lunatic, and hopping in her Jumpster like a wee elf.

I turned 25 on the 3rd. There’s a trip.
