A fog rolls in off the sea tonight. We had a difficult time driving home, and, by midnight, visilibity will be next to zero. I plan to stay up to ring in the New Year, but my wife and child are already in bed, ill. Evelyn has RSV, and Sarah has motherhood. I’ll save the champagne for sometime when I won’t be drinking alone.

Happy New Year!

I’m befuddled. Why doesn’t my church have an altar made of televisions playing an endless loop? Why doesn’t my church duct tape my mouth shut to teach me about Jesus’ silent(sic) suffering? And why, why, why doesn’t my church turn itself into an undersea paradise complete with pearls of wisdom? Don’t they want me to grow???

Actually, I think this woman is a distant cousin. I have a first cousin who goes by the name Sarah Mosley, but she is not enrolled at Texas Tech. My father, however, was born in Lubbock. His parents went to TT. I believe there are still a great many Mosleys in West Texas. I even saw a Mosley Ranch once out Lubbock way.
