I remember staring at this photograph for hours when I was young, mesmerized by the utter weight of the woman’s expression. I see the same expression on the faces of countless women here in Peru and it has become to seem almost commonplace to me. But looking at this powerful image again reminds me of the horrors of poverty; a poverty so deep that only Christ can alleviate the pain. Post a comment
