Re the Baha, Michael currently has a headband that the hearing aid snaps onto. The headband holds it tightly enough against his skull that the vibrations translate into sound in his cochleas. Once he’s a few years older, they will implant posts behind his ears that the hearing aid will snap onto. That will be the permament solution.

Thank God, it’s not that drastic. These implants are more like those little sockets that men have put in their skulls to screw their toupee into.

ah ok. well that’s good then! really what i meant was that maybe you’d see something small like what he (rush) has behind his ear. it’s really not noticeable at all. what was michael’s reaction to hearing noises, or has he yet?

Yes, the Baha is very small. It’s about the size of my thumb joint. Re response to hearing, he doesn’t show too much of a change, yet. He does seem a little more alert, but that’s hard to quantify.

They’re all so cute! I never noticed how much Kate looks like Mike and Lexi looks like Kristen…and I’m not sure which parent Evelyn looks like, but she’s darling.
