The past week or so I’ve been managing to have a cup of tea on the front stoop while Michael is taking his morning nap and Evelyn is in the living room watching Elmo’s Adventures in Grouchland. (You should see her sing and dance.) Back before the babies arrived I would drink tea everyday, but somehow once they got here I fell out of the habit. (Boiling water and steeping is so much trouble, you know? Right.) Well, except for Mother’s Milk tea which isn’t so great. It’s amazing how much a cup of tea can help you relax. Today I had a cup of Bride’s Blend from a tea shoppe at Baytowne Wharf. My mother bought us a pouch when she and my father visited us a couple or so months before Evelyn was born. Makes me think of Brideshead Revisited and Evelyn’s namesake and how when old ladies would mistake Evelyn for a boy when she was younger I would tell them that his name was Eve-lyn and they’d look at me nervously.

And this isn’t Nathanael, but apparently he logged me in as him at one point. Edit: Sorry, Love, I fixed the author tag for you. -N

That sounds really nice. I bet the busyness of your life right now makes that quiet moment all the more sweet. How are you feeling with the pregnancy these days?

Do you pronounce Evelyn’s name Eve (as in Adam and)-lyn or Ehv-eh-lyn? I always assumed it was the latter but your last sentence in the first paragraph is making me wonder now.

It’s the latter. Eve-lyn is the male version. Poor males.

I’m feeling alright. Holding up on the whole pretty well. Just exhausted from no sleep and lots of work. I keep meaning to write you a letter…I wish life would slow down.

Hey guys,

That was a sweet post. Just reading it made me kind of sleepy. I’m encouraged to know that when you had one child it was still hard to sit down for a cup of tea. These next years are going to be a whirlwind. Thank the Lord they grow up in due time.

Wish we could all live close to one another. Hopefully in 2009 we will all be in Minnesota.

Love,

Meggan
