There’s some Woody Guthrie for y’all. Today in the MLR, I played Mermaid Avenue Volumes I & II. The lyrics were all writ by Woody Guthrie, but the music is writ and sung by Billy Bragg and Wilco, with occasional vocal appearances by Natalie Merchant.

Le’ssee, today saw a return to eclectic picks in music to play. Actually, after I put on Kraftwerk’s Autobahn, I started picking albums somewhat randomly (I’ll call it discriminatingly randomly, though what my discriminations were, I couldn’t say - except that whenever I pulled out Prince or Judas Priest, I decided against playing them). The next to come out of the depths of the album drawers was The Adventures’ single “Send My Heart,” followed by Strange Days by the Doors, and wrapped up by Paul Simon’s Graceland.
